Accreditations & Rankings

The following accreditations and rankings reflect the University of Debrecen’s commitment to academic excellence, international standards, and globally recognized education.

    Accreditations

    The University of Debrecen conducts its academic programs according to the European Qualifications Framework of the Bologna Process. As a result, degrees awarded by the University of Debrecen are widely recognized across countries within the European Union. All programs are accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Board, which operates within the European accreditation framework.

      Medical Programs Accreditation

      The medical programs of the University of Debrecen are internationally recognized and accredited by:

      • World Health Organization (WHO)
      • State Education Department (New York, USA)
      • Medical Board of California
      • Medical Councils of India (qualifying examination requirements apply)
      • General Medical Council (UK)
      • Medical authorities in Israel, Ireland, Iran, Norway, and the United Arab Emirates

      The Hungarian Accreditation Committee has been granted Recognition Status by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) until 31 March 2032, confirming that its medical education standards meet internationally accepted quality requirements.

        Medical graduates of the University of Debrecen are also not required to take the PLAB examination for practicing medicine in the UK.

          Engineering & Other Program Accreditations

          Engineering programs at the University of Debrecen follow international quality standards. All BSc and MSc Engineering programs are listed in the European Engineering Education Database (EEED). The university’s engineering programs are also recognized through FEANI (European Federation of National Engineering Associations).

            Additionally, Chemistry programs have received the Eurobachelor and Euromaster labels, further demonstrating the university’s commitment to internationally benchmarked education.

              The University of Debrecen continues to strengthen its position in international university rankings while maintaining its status as one of Hungary’s leading higher education institutions.
